Accessing your military email on smartphones and tablets requires the right setup. Here’s how to configure CAC authentication on mobile devices.
Reader Options
Bluetooth CAC readers connect wirelessly to your phone. USB-C readers work with newer Android devices and iPads. Lightning adapters enable CAC use on older iPhones.
Required Apps
Install the Purebred app for certificate management. The DoD Mobility app provides access to military resources. Outlook mobile works with CAC authentication when properly configured.
Certificate Installation
Purebred pushes your CAC certificates to your device. Follow the enrollment prompts carefully. Certificates must be renewed when your CAC is replaced.
Troubleshooting Mobile Access
Bluetooth connectivity issues are common—ensure pairing is complete. Certificate errors often require re-enrollment through Purebred. Contact your unit’s IT support for persistent problems.
